There is a saying, “Without vision the people perish.” Though this saying is primarily spiritual I have found it no less true in other areas of life. Without vision, without passion people slowly die within.
There is a reason why the self-help industry is worth $11 billion, people want to be inspired to do something. There is an innate desire to want to do something, to be something, to matter. And I believe each of us has our own talents, our own self worth.
This is why I talk about passion so much. It’s our passions that not only differentiates us from others but feeds our very livelihood. I’ve seen people work at the same restaurant, doing the same thing – one views it simply as a job while the other takes ownership of their position in the company. The one who views it simply as a job is overall less enthusiastic with a lower desire for life. The one who takes ownership is much more enthused and that spills over to other areas, creating a desire for living. The difference between the two is one is slowly dying within while the other is a well, springing forth life.
What kind of person do you desire to be? Do you wish to just pass thru life not doing much of anything or do you wish to to something, to be something, to matter? It’s your choice – without passion the people perish. Find your passion.
Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!
