Above is a picture of a Dr. Pepper shirt. It may not seem like much but I won that back when they had the prizes printed on the lids rather than the ridiculous codes they have now. It may not seem like much but I have kept it all these years because I won it.
Most of my life has been a continuous series of unfortunate circumstances. They are nothing major and comparatively speaking they are trivial next to others’ predicaments. Yet, though small in nature comparatively, when they continually come it can wear on one’s patience. It takes a lot of effort at times to push through and not spiral in self pity.
That is why when good things come I hold on to them – like my Dr. Pepper shirt. I remember those times of winning, whether it’s a $20 lottery ticket win or a cake in a raffle. I don’t want to ever forget that though things may not come easily every once in a while things line up. And for those moments I am most grateful.
What about you? Have you had things come easily? If so recognize it and don’t take it for granted. Give back, help others with what you know and have experienced. Or maybe things haven’t come as easy, perhaps have had a very hard time that required a lot of perseverance. If so remember that perseverance, remember the good that comes from it. And remember those times when something good happened, whether great or small. Remember it and hold on knowing winning isn’t everything, but sometimes it helps.
Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!
