Remember Now, Not Just Afterwards

Many different people spoke of how they remembered her – a good coach, friend, confidant, person. It is a good thing to remember people after they are gone – who they were, what they did, what impact they left. But if we only remember them after they are gone we have done them a great disservice.

Imagine if you had worked hard all your life to be a better person, to make a true difference. Now imagine after all that hard work without much recognition you pass away and it is only then many start talking about your contributions. While you were here no one gave you much mind but now that you’re gone people want to talk about how great of a person you were. Now that you are gone and cannot receive or appreciate how others feel do they let you know. But you are gone, they are telling others how great you were but never told you while you were here. This is what we have a tendency to do, to appreciate others silently, never telling or showing them. Again, a great disservice. This is why we need to remember now, not just afterwards.

Showing others you appreciate them does not always have to be done in grandiose style. It could be a simple thanks, small tokens of gratitude, even remembering to invite them when going out with friends. Small gestures can have a ripple effect, you never know how simply saying hi to someone could change their life. So let us remember to show others we appreciate them now while they are still with us. Letting them know after they are gone does them no good.

What does this have to do with pursuing your passions? A lot. Get to It! is more than just finding a hobby or group to pass the time away. It is about living life to the fullest, pursuing those good and pure things in life. If at the end of the road you have done a bunch of stuff but have not taken the time to be a better human being then that is all you are, a bunch of stuff. And that is a sad disposition to leave this life. We cannot take any of this stuff with us, and that includes words unsaid. So say the words now while you have a chance. Remember now, not just afterwards.

Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It![/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section]
