I don’t believe in self prophecy but it’s sometimes interesting how you can state something and then that something happens to you. For instance, my last post was about being interrupted and then I have been unable to post for a few weeks due to life’s happenings. But alas, I’m back.
There’s an adage that practice makes perfect. I think sometimes it can and most always it helps. But whether you reach perfection or not when you practice at least you’re doing something, and that, to me, is the biggest part.
As I’ve mentioned before I have a lot of interests, more than can fit in a life time. As I trim down that list to be more achievable I also have to think about how much time I will dedicate to practicing that interest. If it’s playing music will it be 1 hour a day? Or while learning a new language do I need to join a group that will help me? Questions that need to be answered to reach the best I can.
As I am trimming down the list I am also aware that I may never be perfect at these things, and I’m ok with that. Though being perfect or the best would be awesome it’s not what drives me to do, it’s the doing that drives me. It’s realizing that I am doing more than nothing, or as is The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, “You are participating!”
So what kind of practicing are you doing? Are you pursuing your passions, even if it’s just simply practicing? Practicing may or may not make you perfect but it definitely means you’re doing something.
Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!
