Passion or Apathy – Your Choice

I have been very blessed to have opportunities to hear various business people speak. I have heard CEOs such as Jimmy Haslam (Pilot Flying J), Amy Miles (Regal Entertainment Group), and Michael Strickland (Bandit Lites). I have also heard coaches such as Bruce Pearl (Auburn) and Cuonzo Martin (California). I have had the privilege of hearing many different successful people speak and all of them have a common thread, passion.

When these business leaders, these coaches, community leaders speak, they do so with passion. It’s not always in the loud, overly ecstatic voice people associate with passion (though some do). But whether their presentation is emphatic or low key they all speak about what they do passionately. They believe in what they do so much that no one can deter them. It’s the passion for what they do that gives them the drive to keep going, to keep pressing forward, to keep pursuing what they believe in. I have yet to meet a highly successful person who is dispassionate and apathetic about their job. But rather at the core of all successful people I have found there is a passion for what they do.

So, what are you passionate for? Do you have a passion for business? Or maybe art? Perhaps it’s cooking or dancing. Do you want to pursue your GED? It could be that you want that professional certification for a better career. For some it’s music, for others it’s reading. Whatever it is make sure you pursue that passion for no one else will do it for you. Always remember, you have the choice – passion or apathy – choose passion!

Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!
