Merry New Year! I hope your Christmas and Holidays went well, even if it meant dealing with family for a few days. But that is what family was made for I guess. At any rate I hope 2016 was a good year and 2017 is even better. If 2016 was not a good year for you, here’s wishing you a better and more fulfilled 2017.
For me I am banking on 2017 being a banner year. Whether that entails great opportunities showing up or my pushing and making those opportunities, or more likely a combination of the two, I am determined that 2017 will be a great year.
What about you? What do you think 2017 has in store for you? Great things? Bad things? Indifferent things? Like most years 2017 will probably bring some good, some bad and some indifferent events in our lives – that is just how it is. Many things are out of our control, what is in our control is how we process and view those events. When unpleasantness happens, when someone says “no,” when I hear rejection and doubt, these are not hindrances to what I am working toward but opportunities. Opportunities to learn, to listen, to reflect, to adjust, and move forward. It is all about attitude and how I decide to take setbacks.
This is how 2017 will be a banner year for me and can be for you as well. Let us look at 2017 as a year of opportunities to find who we are, find our passions, our goals, our better selves. It is possible, even in the midst of turmoil, we simply need the right attitude. Let us look at 2017 as a banner year unfolding one day at a time. Then we can smile and welcome 2017 and say “Merry New Year!”
Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!
