Whenever I go to start something new I tend to start it at the beginning of something. Sometimes it’s starting at the beginning of the week, sometimes it’s the next month or even next year. But lately I’ve been rethinking that approach. Yes, it does give an organized starting point but why do I need to wait a few days, weeks or even months. Why should I not just start today?
As we approach the holidays some of us will start thinking about our New Year’s resolutions. They can range from the usual eating better and going to the gym, to something more exotic as cliff diving or base jumping. One of my New Year’s resolutions the past few years has been to start addressing those who serve me by their name. Whether it is at a sit down restaurant or fast food or even at Target I have been wanting to acknowledge people by their name. But each new year comes around and I forget for a few weeks and then a few months. Because I forgot to start I then plan on starting it the following new year. And so the cycle repeats itself.
My challenge to not just you but also myself is to start your resolution today. Why wait until the new year? Let’s start today so that by the time the new year comes we’re ahead of the game.
Attempt it. Chance it. Try it. Get to It!

Good idea too for those of us who have cognitive issues!!!
